Conjunction of the Moon and Saturn 2014 August 31

This was sufficiently low when it got dark that I had to start cutting the hedge back to get at it with the 100mm refractor in the main observatory. This scope with a DSLR at prime focus framed it well. (Click twice to enlarge fully) Moon-Sat2014-88-31-DLA

  1. Hi David I like the way you’ve managed to get the exposures of the Moon & Saturn pretty close to perfect if that was just one exposure.

  2. Yes it was one exposure Bob. I tried between 1/40 and 1/100th, and the shortest was the best compromise. There is still a very slight burn-out in the brightest areas of the Moon.
